We got to start off by congratulating Singleton for not letting the weather from stopping us getting a game.At 2 O'clock the square was under water but within 30 minutes of the rain stopping the game commenced. It was decided to play a 16 eight ball overs game and Pilgrims batted first. Matt and Tyrone opened the batting and pushed the run rate along before Tyrone(16) was bowled with the score on 32.Jack was next in but was soon trudging back to the pavilion. Craig and Matt put on 17 before Craig(4) was bowled.Matt (33) and Sam (0) soon followed before Harry and Trevor pushed the run rate on and after the 16 overs Pilgrims score was 109-8.I must thank Rendy for letting my grandaughter chloe play a great feeling to have my grandson Sam and Chloe both playing for the Pilgrims. Singleton went straight in as tea was taken before the game started. 23 runs came from the first wicket stand before N.Wakefield was run out.The 2nd wicket fell with the score on 54 with a catch by Sam of craig's bowling.Stout resistance from pete and John saw Singleton loosing no more wickets but after the 16th over Singleton score of 71-2 was short of Pilgrims total.Because of bad weather we knew that the last game against Lavant had already been called off.A huge thanks to both Ebernoe and Singleton for getting us two matches on tour. A big thanks again to Rendy for all his hard work in organizing it,a big thanks to Simon for the shirts and his continuing support for the club. Thanks to Dave for the great fixture list and finallyThanks to all our family and friends who came to support us on tour and throughout the season.Next year is a special year for us our 40th season and will all be looking forward to the fixtures Dave will be getting for us. |
